Rod used to work with his Dad, earl Tempero (they can't spell in the article) and they built some cracking cars, including D-types and XKSS's. Then the company was taken over by a company in Saratoga who went into production of the Jaguar models. Surprise surprise, the company folded because even in the USA there wasn't that amount of demand. Rod has been on his own for a few years now, and I get his emails from time to time on his current project. Just have a look here to see some more:-

Utterly amazing! If I had as much talent as that guy's fingernail clippings, I'd be a happy man. That Ferrari truly is a work of art.

I find this a strange one. I always look at these type of things and wonder why people with so much ability don't devote their time into creating something truly original of their own design. Just seems a shame to invest so much energy into copying something else, loads of skill but no creativity. scratchchin

I guess most people have neither the skills to make something like that nor the creativity to design something that good looking.
A few have the creativity.
A few the skills.
But how many are blessed with both?

Designing a full car even back in the 50s and 60s was the work of a team of people. Those who might be able to draw out a beautiful body probably lack the skills necessary to get the suspension right. Surely doing something truly original would be incredibly difficult without a much larger team.
MPH had his stunning special built by the guys at CMC, but it was on top of an availably chassis IIRC.
