Fault code reader... is there such a thing?
Discussion
As above really!
Got another persistent warning light and I've tried just about every code reader out there with the exception of GM's Tech2 tool....
I've even had the launch x431 as well as the snapon solus ultra on it and still no joy
(I've tried various cheapo options too)
anyone found a way to get the codes out without a reader? (the repair manual i have says you can get the dash to flash and beep the codes at me if i connect certain terminals together...anyone ever tried this?)
She's booked in at vauxhall for now but they'll probably charge me something daft just to stick their GM reader on it!
I've searched high and low before posting this but I just can't seem to find anything.
Anyone else had this level of difficulty just reading error codes?

Sorry for the delayed reply guys, and thanks for the response (I've been infiltrating my engine bay looking for obvious faulty connections etc. Of which, there seem to be none).
I have a mate who works at a garage who has the launch and he said he could only see ABS, SRS and immobiliser info?...
Maybe he was using the wrong mode/protocols or something? Could he have just been using vauxhall settings when he should have been using holden perhaps?

I will be in South Yorkshire tomorrow afternoon at Ice Sheffield, if you could get there at around 14.30, I could have a look.
I have EFI live and HP tuners, so could try and read the codes for you?
Phill, how long will you be there for? I'll be on my way past sheffield around 1:30pm and then back later on probably around 4:30ish? (2:30pm is bang in the middle of when I need to be at the venue!) No worries if not though mate.I have EFI live and HP tuners, so could try and read the codes for you?

That would be perfect if it wasn't for having a viewing booked to see a wedding venue at around the same time! Hmm. .. maybe I can work something out... leave it with me. I'll give you a shout later on either way mate. Thanks!
Ok, no problem, I will also be there at 9.40 a.m. and have half an hour, if that works better.StuRo said:

Latest Bosch diagnostics accesses all systems
and I've got one
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that you're based somewhere near Essex?
and I've got one

Thanks though mate, hopefully Phill can sort me out tomorrow! (Which would be awesome...I've been trying to get this code read now for what feels like forever!

I could do 9.40 mate. That can work! I've had a quick Google, Is it the place near centertainment?
Cheers
Yes, near there, just a bit further, S9 2FA, on Coldridge road. I think they have an Athletic event on over the road and like to control parking at Ice sheffield, just say you are skating.Cheers
I have sent a p.m with my phone number, send me text and will call you at 9.40 so we can meet in the car park.
Fault codes from Stu's Monaro
[] P0522 - Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Voltage (Old) (History) (Immature)
[] P0523 - Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit High Voltage (SES) (Pending) (Old) (History) (Current) (Immature)
Can anyone help with what the issue might be, could it be just a faulty sensor?

Thanks again for today Phill. That's been a massive help.[] P0522 - Engine Oil Pressure Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Voltage (Old) (History) (Immature)

ARAF, I don't have the supercharger (a shame but perhaps fortunate in this case!)
Does anyone know if the high and low voltage readings point to anything in particular or if this is just a case of checking for dodgy/loose connections/ grounded wires etc. and replacing if necessary?
I'll be having a look as soon as I get some light (and time!)
