Hello AM Folks,

Is there a way to disable the display so it will remain closed until needed?

I love my V12V, and drive it in areas I'm quite familiar with so don't need the navigation system except on long trips.

It would be nice to just have the driver gauges to view and not be constantly visually distracted by the ever changing color or orientation updates on the navigation screen.

I'm a newbie to the forum so pardon if this question has been asked before. I searched the archives and didn't find a similar subject so decided to post.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.!

It stays closed unless you press the Nav button to activate it. Don't press the Nav button!

If it is coming up automatically its faulty!

Also what Mikey said RTFM idea

I used mine once. Absolutely hopeless and the display looks dreadfully dated so as far as I am concerned the car doesn't have one so I use the iPhone when I need a nav. Never had it up since missus. OOer

Mine comes up automatically which is my preference so never rtfm to see how to stop it. I think I closed it once by pressing and holdoing NAV button and cannot remember if it automatically came up next time or not

Whoa! Holding in the Navi button until the display folded down worked! Now I can enjoy this lovely car without digital screen light-show distractions.

Thank you very much everyone and the forum of Aston Martin enthusiasts!

I rarely use the fitted 'satnav', but have recently discovered a FREE navigator product, that does seem to be very good at always knowing the applicable speed limit (UK and continent). It politely chimes, whenever the limit is being exceeded. A handy feature on many journeys, now that the speed limits change so frequently.

It is called HERE, and was initially only on Nokia phones, but has recently become available for Android tablets. It works without needing any internet or phone signal.

Anyone else using HERE?

Good man smile lovely!

Not using Here. The garmin nav does it though and has speed camera database. I've sussed the system and could do with upgrading my database soon. I've also used an iPhone app cameraalert which works with out an Internet connection.

Nice! Lightning Silver? Join the club

I find the Garmin useful even on known trips as the traffic alerts are not bad

FYI the round thing in front of you is used to turn the front wheels and hence direction the car will travel in.

As I am pretty certain it is Lightning Silver I completely agree smile

Pity the poor US market has to have those side markers front and rear but still gorgeous

Rather have the side markers than have to block part of the iconic grille with that ugly front registration plate.
