importing car from sweden ???

i am considering importing a used mustang from Sweden, please can anyone tell me a rough idea on cost as a percentage of the vehicle purchase price? thanks!

There is no tax to pay since Sweden is an EU member. The costs will be the cost of getting the car from Sweden to the UK, plus the cost of registering it and taxing it, and MOTing it if it doesn't already have one.

thanks, that is what i was hoping but slightly worried as it is an american import into sweden .I suppose I need proof that the vat and import duty has been paid by original importer.

If it's anything like here you can't get it registered without proof of payment of duties, unless you qualify for exemption.

Might also be worth checking whether or not it's ever been registered here in the past.
