This was when the rear end was rebuilt, I have found loose driveshaft bolts in the past since the rebuild before me. I just wasn't sure about the rose joints.

Another vote for the rear ARB drop links, quite a common issue.
Weird thing was that on may car the knocking sound was on the opposite side of the car to the loose front ARB droplink. Thankfully my friendly MOT guy spotted it, as it had been annoying me for months.I also found another ARB droplink failure recently where the rear droplink punched through the large washer so the rubber bush was no longer held in place.
