Was on the club run going the opposite way for part of the route (Ashdown forest where you guys would have got to the top, and then taken the sharp right) - when we were going down, there were a LOT of pain faces going on!
Route is a good one though, but brutal as you say!

Nice weather for it!!

I'm entered into the Hell of Ashdown this Sunday. The weather for that looks dire.

70 miles and 6,500 vertical feet? Nice ride out that. smile

Try the full Dartmoor Classic next year, it was just over 100 miles and just over 10,000 vertical feet, in scorching mid June last year.

All joking apart, well done that man! thumbup

Try the tour of wessex - day 3 is 112 miles / 10,000ft(ish), and that's after 2 100+ days..

Actually highly recommended, but there's always something bigger no mattter what you do smile

Did this go down Polhill and through Otford?
I saw a bunch of road riders with race numbers there on Sunday late morning.

Yes that was near the end of the route. Up Row Dow then up Tinkerpot Lane before returning to Brands Hatch.
