Cayman S (987) 20k miles for a set of OEM brake pads???
Discussion
Hi All,
Anyone know roughly what i can expect to get from average "fast road" use on OEM Discs and Pads on a 987 Caymans S?
i had my discs pads and sensors changed last year from a specialist, 20k later i take it back to the specialist to complete a minor service, he advised me pad wear was running low on the front and rears, 1 week later i get a warning light on my dash with "service wear on brake pads" is it normal to burn through a set of pads front and rear in 22k miles when most of the driving i do (80%) is motorway mileage?
Thanks in advance.

I guess it depends how you drive - Ie how much you use the brakes. My driving is 80% motorway too and I've only changed the discs and pads once in 58k miles with plenty of life left on the current set. I usually slow down before I have to apply the brakes and only use them well to avoid bunny rabbits or cyclists - unless they are abusive
