Brand New Cayenne Discounts

Afternoon - a friend of mine is thinking of ordering a new Cayenne Diesel. Unlikely to have a huge spec, currently looking at £57-60k depending on where his thinking ends up on a couple of bits.

What level of discount should he be pushing for on a new car to spec? Anyone have any recent experience of this scenario?

I have cautioned him around depreciation but don't know a huge amount about these cars. Is he likely to take a battering over 2/3 years?

There's a long waiting list (c. 12 months) so I'd be surprised if he'd get anything other than a day out at the Porsche Experience Centre.
If he could find one in stock with a sticky specification, on the last day of a financial quarter, then he may have more luck.

I guess that means residuals should be strong? When is the next generation due to be released?

Someone bothered to write an article to explain that % and £ deprecation were different things and that lower depreciating high value cars might actually lose more in £ terms than some high depreciating low value cars? Really?

KCan't say I found the same when I sold my S diesel in June last year, 18 months old, 12k miles, big spec, £86k new best bid £63k, it was a very clean car.

I guess this was your problem - options don't generally retain much value.

Plus thiere was a facelift due imminently at that time - that won't help resale values either.
