Two High Altitude planes over Peterborough - 10 Minutes ago

I've just seen two high altitude planes over Peterborough in close formation, flight radar didn't show either of them overhead I assume military?

Anyone know?

Large or small? The USAF transports are East West all the time, not usually close together though.

F15's tend to play on a daily basis out of Lakenheath?

You've also got Typhoons/Tornados out of Coningsby and Marham not too far away.

Large, couldn't quite see for sure but looked to be a commercial airline size.

Wasn't dog fighting F15 etc that's for sure.

They left the trails (can't think of the term) that commercial airlines leave when they pass over which is why I assume commercial airline size.

How do you know they were in formation? Could have been 2000ft apart. Not everything in the sky appears on FR24

I was using formation as a context.

However, they where less than a mile apart, one tracking the other to the right offset to side by side.

Ok so they could have been on the same airway at different levels no?
