Back issue.....
Discussion
Odd one this but has anyone had back issues or developed them when driving their Vantage? I’ve been having back problems and stopped using my car last week and they disappeared. Drove this morning and the back pain is back. I’m hoping I will get over it but the pain this morning was almost unbearable.
I find the seats in my Vantage the most comfortable I have ever used. Is your pain lower back? Do you have adjustable lumbar support? You might need something to push on your lower back to prevent you slumping, and it should be possible to drive with your head against the headrest, if it's too far back it could be you have the seat reclined too much...

I've also had issue with the Vantage seats in the past. No amount of adjustments or moving the seat lumber supports would help.But a little lumber cushion has fixed the issue. No more sore back for me.

This was the same for me with both the sports seats and the lightweights - having a little cushion does look a bit crap though!But a little lumber cushion has fixed the issue. No more sore back for me.

I've got adjustable lumbar support and I've tried loads of diffierent driving postions and can't get comfortable at all.
I had this problem too (2007v8vR). Was ruining my enjoyment of the car. I tried all the advice online about seat position (sitting improbably close to the wheel helped a little but I have long legs compared to my arms and couldn't get comfy) but just couldn't get rid of the ache - someone on here suggested switchable suspension and new tyres, the problem has gone away completely.Here's a write up showing who I used;

...but you should know the car still drives like a dream and thoroughly planted on the new softer suspension setting, so unless you are going to drive it on-tracks you could probably save money by just putting in softer or even manually adjustable suspension dampers, the switchable cost was eye watering. I don't regret it though as I got my grin back everytime I drive the car.
Best of luck with it.

Sadly I sold my V12V and the main reason was I (and my wife) suffered terrible back pain in sports seats after about an hour on them. No amount of adjustment of the seat or lumbar seemed to help and the pain would last for the best part of a week after a weekends drive. Regretted not opting for lightweight seats, but seating discomfort isn't something you think about or feel on a test drive.
Whenever I see a Vantage now I admire the looks, but cringe at the thought of sports seats. Can't honestly say I've ever had the problem to the same degree in any other car.

Well back problem is back and I can't get comfortable at all driving my car. I stopped driving my Vantage for a few weeks and used the wifes car. Drove my car and as soon as I was getting out could feel my back aching again.
Are the seats in the DB9 the same as the Vantage? I tried looking online but can find bugger all.

In my old DB9 I had EXACTLY the same issues as you (sports seats). The DBS less so but I now have a groin strain instead
The mind boggles.
The seats do need careful adjustment though. Especially front to back tilt. Worth doing a google to see how to set up a car seat properly

Trouble is though, mon ami, we all have different backs. As you know I have a very short spine due to my inadequate height
It's why I never pay attention to Neil's stereo settings as we all have different otic abilities
