It doesn't work like that though... if you bought the SV and exported it from Singapore, the govt give back some of the money.. it evens out.
PLUS these are RHD cars and there are only 27 of them around... so they are worth A LOT more than the LHD ones.

Yes we get back part of the taxation, pro rated.
There are 17 SV's currently running around in Singapore. 23 from new but they are being exported out slowly.

I thought it was the other way round. That all UK cars would find their way into Asia one day or another.. Hence keeping price of RHD artificially inflated because of Asian demand...

New cars go into Singapore and then back out to other RHD markets after a few years. Used cars from the UK go to Australia, Hong Kong and Thailand....I believe...

Yes most go for export from Singapore. I would say about 90%.

Not at all bro. There are purist/collectors in Asia, not as much as Europe or USA but in Singapore most owners just want the latest model. Sadly.

I always wondered if any of the 10 Gallardo SLE's ever got exported. Used to park next to one in our condo.

I was following a classic orange coloured SV Murci on dealer plates today, back from Canary Wharf via Blackwall tunnel, A2, Junction 2 M25 and then he left at Junction 4 A21.

I have to say it's such a great looking car still. Some supercars look dated with the next generation but the Murcielago looks just as good still as the Aventador. In fact it looks better I think as it is more restrained and not trying too hard, if anything which is so low and so wide and so orange and so loud can do so.

I followed it all the way, just because it was like being behind an ambulance who shoved slovenly cars out of the third lane even though he was only doing an easy 70-80 strop. Left a respectful distance, window down, waiting for the next blat.

Really brightened up my drive home. Fantastic sounding engine.
