So there's this one guy who owns Bentley Mulsanne and he recently took the mickey out of modern car designers calling their products bland and s
t like that and saying that Mulsanne is his benchmark for car design beauty. “There are some shocking cars on the road" says a guy who owns one of the most vile/revolting Bentleys (or cars in general) ever. How can anyone treat this guy seriously? Ah, the guys name is Jony Ive and here's the link

To be fair, I think hats off to him for sticking with what he likes. The guy is so rich he could buy any car he wants, but he is obviously sentimental to his Bentley and that's fine (even if you think its ugly). And he is right - there are some modern cars with shocking designs. He can be taken seriously as he designed the iMac, iPod, and the iPhone - products used by millions of people.

What have you done recently?
Mr Ive lives in the US.
They really do have some rather peculiar tastes with regards to some cars.

Also there are plenty of threads from Americans who agree with him

What have you done recently?
Did you mean he copied most of his designs (sorry, in case of Apple gods, he took his inspiration) from designs of other people. What have you done recently?
And I took a nice heavy s
t recently which made me feel light and in general good about myself, thanks for asking and caring.Where's the issue?
In terms of styling making a statement it is difficult to beat the Mulssane. There are numerous styling cues harking back through the Manufacturer's history and yet it has ended up looking like nothing else on the road today, and wrapped inside you've got what is is arguably the best interior to be chauffeured about in the World.
Also, there seems to be no mention of what generation Mulsanne we are talking about here. He could quite possibly have the classic boxy Turbo R shape Mulsanne, in which case he's onto something.

Well the issue is that he disses modern car designs and at the same time drives one of the most vile car designs ever. Is that not obvious? It's a bit like pot calling kettle black, isn't it?In terms of styling making a statement it is difficult to beat the Mulssane. He paints himself as a god of f
king design and doesn't seem to accept that "Design and aesthetics are so subjective, it's quite silly to voice your opinions on other people's choices as if there is a right and wrong answer."Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
