I tend to use the App, Good to know, rather than my manual, it's easier. However, it gives me options that my car can't achieve, for example, advice such as;

On the PCM if you press Media repeatedly the Jukebox audio source is highlighted and you can download music from your Mp3 player - No there is no Jukebox to be highlighted

On the PCM if you press Phone, go through set phone, telephone settings, sound phone, ringtone type, you can change the ring tone; no you can't. Yes I have telephone module.

Any one come across these anomalies?

My 991 is 2012 and doesn't have either of those available on the PCM. I borrowed a 991 GTS recently and it had DAB and the Jukebox which I was told were only available on later cars (2014/15?). Not the end of the world to have either, but might use them if they're there.

My 981 June 2013 build has Jukebox which works. I have never tried to change my ring tone though

Thanks for the replies. I'll ask my OPC when the changes were brought in and if they can be simply added next time I'm passing, unlikely I know.

Mine is a Dec 2012 car and it has the jukebox (not that I've ever used it). PCM 4.3 IIRC. No idea on changing the ringtone though as I rarely receive a call in the car

I have a July '13 Boxster - has the Jukebox (which is now getting a lot of use) but never attempted to change the ring tone.

For the jukebox can you not import tracks from the CD player?

What's the advantage of using the Jukebox as opposed to just playing from a USB stick?

I believe it's a matter of storage space. Maximum USB size is 32GB and Jukebox is 40GB (from ageing memory).

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

So you need to rip the CD's to MP3 copy them to a USB stick then copy them to the Jukebox, seems very longwinded to me to be honest.

Think I'll stick with the iPod

I suppose the Jukebox is for those who want bigger MP3 files, and therefore better quality sound? I use my ipod for convenience but realise I could have better sound... All that said, I wonder what the true rationale is for installing it on all 981s other than maybe it is now cheap to do so as it is probably just a memory card and some software....

My March 2014 (delivery) 981 has the Jukebox, which works and I can change the ringtone. Bit of waste of time though, all (12 I think) options are pretty boring variations on Bring Bring or tweet tweet.

Thinking about this I guess I could use this for audio books, something that the PCM can't handle on an iPod
