I found myself wondering today whether it's a good idea for all these images that PH uploads to the Thumbsnap website that form a good chunk of it's content?

My conclusion was that it isn't a great idea because either PH and TS will fall out, or TS will go bust or want to pursue a different business model and PH will be left with a load of red x's where there should be images.

Isn't it a better plan to keep it all within PH?

It's never been in PH though. And I suspect they don't want the cost of the storage or the complexity of making the new feature work. (See the search feature for inspiration)

I rarely use thumbsnap because I've not found a way to 'unpublish' images. If you make a booboo and share something in error it's there in perpetuity.

You don't have to use thumbsnap, you can link from anywhere.

Retaining images in house = ££££.

Of course, I understand there's a cost implication. I just thought it might be worthwhile when you consider the alternative is for one day to have loads of red xs everywhere instead of images!
