Hi All,

I car share with a neighbour to the station and this evening, like every evening he drops me off by pulling up partially on the curb.

An elderly lady in her 70's who was 30 feet away, walked over waving her arms in the air, shouting "What are you doing, trying to run me over"!!!!!

She then raved about not being able to park on the footpath, it is illegal blah, blah.

I very calmly, in a very respectful manner said "I'm sorry, my friends intention is not to run her over but simply to drop me off home, without blocking the road.

She carried on raving, saying it is illegal blah, blah and I just had to bite my tongue and walk off.

My friend did nothing wrong, she was 30 feet away, when he mounted the curb, there was traffic behind us and there are cars always parked partially on the curb anyway.

It is just making my piss boil......did my mate do something illegal?

This is not central London but the home counties!

If he's driven up the kerb and onto a footpath then, yes, he has done something wrong.

However, old biddy over reacted.

She should curb her behaviour.

Spray her with boiling hot piss.

But in reality, he should just pull up next to the curb, he'd be blocking the road no less than before, unless he's on the curb so far that people don't need to adjust to go around him.

All that jazz

Was she soliciting for business? Maybe you upset her by blocking her from view from other punters?

You reacted perfectly, apologise, explain your intentions and then carry on with life.

If I was your mate it wouldn't deter me from pulling onto the kerb in the future neither, she probably wasn't really bothered, just wanted someone to shout at about something. Bless.

Next time you see the moaning old bat mount the pavement totally and pancake her...reverse over her (just to be sure) and carry on your way...job done...happy days...

People who drive and park on pavements are knobs.

Clearly.
