What should I do at Night School?
Discussion
Picked up a copy of the Metro, today.
("I read it in the Metro, so it MUST be true!!")
Lots of ideas in a section called "London Learning"
Be stimulating to try learning something new, or developing some skills methinks (mind you, "old dog, new tricks" comes to mind!). All for fun.
Am considering between:
Photography (know some basics, so something a bit more advanced perhaps)
IT (know some basics etc - you get the drift!)
A language - Arabic maybe?
Literature
Acting (!)
Some more business studies
Watcha reckon? What would you do/have done that's a bit different from the norm?

I did Art A level at night school....was cheaper than the regular recreatitional course
Similarly did Maths and English lit A level too.
Have done photography- black and white artistic shots that you develop and print yourself..I think it was a 10 week course and cost about £45.
Also did pottery...though you spend so much time kneading the clay that there isn't that much time to spend on the potter's wheel - coating it and bunging it in the kiln.
Did Greek as well - but I found it was easier to use a linguaphone course.
Good luck, whatever you choose

I took night classes in French for two years. I obtained an O level in French, but felt the need to learn the language again because the standard of teaching French was so poor at my school.
I did attend Creative Writing classes at the Adult Education Centre in Nottingham. I had a lovely teacher, but work forced me to switch to another class. Sadly I left because the teacher was pretty poor and they also made a really bitchy comment when I told them that I had actually had my work published.
I taught various levels of photography courses at night shool for about eight years. I had some lovely, extremely talented students over the years. Some went on to be professional photographers. Some became very good friends too.
I very nearly took up sculpture a couple of years ago. I always fancied doing that. I'm a big Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth fan.
I would say that doing something creative would be beneficial if your day job isn't a creative one. Some people do night classes to further their career, while others do it purely for social reasons.
