Identify Car please. Ferrari?? Lotus?? Goggomobile??

This should be easy but we can't quite find exactly what this is. I was thinking Ferrari 308 but someone else at work says Lotus Esprit and image search is proving inconclusive. The photo was taken mid 70's in Aus if that helps.

Not the best of angles is it? I really like Boxers, but it looks long nosed and short tailed in that image. Before I read the answer I was thinking BMW M1.

Just reading up and seems quite an impressive and rare car to have made it's way to Tassie in 1975. I wonder where it got to in life.
