Talivan with only side lights on

Monday morning - approx 7.40 am in Reading I was followed by a Talivan in Reading. It was raining, there was thick cloud and it was dark - the street lights were on.

The Talivan only had side lights on. Is this against the law or is there a ruling about lights on within a 30 limit?

I got the reg - and I'm prepared to be a pain in the ass

You won't even cause a tickle in the ass, let alone a pain..

Sidelights only are permitted on restricted roads...ie those with a 30mph speed limit....(If I read correctly, you were on a 30mph road? The fact it was raining or dark doesn't come into it..unless the visibility was less than 100m)
