A colleague is looking at the Cayman 2.9 (2009 model) so I said I'd try and get some tips on the normal problem areas..

All thought gratefully received!

I think they (the 2.9 models) are pretty much rock solid.

I had a 2011 2.9 manual with zero options on the smallest wheels as a courtesy car when the 997 TT PDK Cab was in for a service.

It was the best fun and drivers car i had been in for many years.

OK, a bit of clarification smile

Fun was accessible instantly and you could go through the gears with a lot of satisfaction from the revvy engine and nicely matched gear ratios combined with the lower grip from the taller tyres and all at much lower speeds than we can end up doing in our own cars.
The car had no options at all so couldnt get much lighter for the model.

I loved it smile

I made everyone drive it during the week i had it.
All came back grinning smile
