Hi I was wondering if anybody has any experience of the above.
I currently have a seat ibiza fr 1.9 pd130 and have been looking for a scirocco 2.0 tsi as I no longer need a diesel. But a an immaculate c30 2.0 petrol has come up at a very good price and spec.
On paper the ford 2.0 duratec has very poor torque, will the car be a let down after the pd130 or will ot seem ok? Or should I just hold out and wait for the right scirocco to come up?
thanks for any help in advance

It'll feel gutless after the PD and its lump of low/mid-range torque. A 2.0 NA engine just isn't that quick in a relatively heavy hatch like the C30.

You'd be better off with a turbo petrol if you want more grunt at low-medium revs. However, might be worth doing some research on the TSI motor as I gather there have been reliability issues with some of them.

Thanks for the reply thats what im worried about the bhp is more but torque is well down on the pd.
I thought the 2.0 tsi was supposed to be okish apart from the cam chain tensioner

Yeah, I think the 1.4TFSI engines had the issues. The 2.0TFSI in the Mark 5 Golf (at least) was considered pretty reliable.

Hi I have gone for the c30 2.0 petrol not got it yet so I will have to see how I go on.....
I have read loads of reviews and the general feeling is that it is similar in performance to the c30 2.0 diesel but it has to be worked a lot harder to achieve it.
