Happy new year all.
Has anyone out there got a voltage stabilizer from a mk II speedo?
just discovered why the one I have refuses to work, despite metering ok - the bugger came off a 6v system!
So smiths spares being like rockin horse shit I need a little help - please (quiet mal I heard that)
Dave

I really am fed up with having to dip my tank - there has to be a better way!

Well Europa came up trumps, arrived 24 hours after order!
Only problem is I still have no idea how much fuel Yellow is carrying!
guage still showing full, took out the sender unit and took it apart, only to find that the connect pin insulation has broken down - so I'm now in need of a part that Europa does not list
- an Escort mk1 (I think) fuel sender unit - fits on tank by way of a flange fixing, a little like a camera lens ie: lugs that will only allow it to fit in one position, a single pipe bent horizontal on top and a screw pin onto which the fuel sender cable fits.

So I went out to the garage today (in the rain) and what should be hanging up on the wall in a Halfrauds bag but a Mk1 fuel tank pickup and gauge sender. I ran the meter over it and it shows 0.4 Ohms empty and 0.8 full- so it seems to work. I got it with the tank that I put in the black 1600 4spd I sold last year. Now these things are like hens' teeth as we know so must be worth a fortune...
