Since in general gassing we have only one thread for football, I was thinking why don't we open a thread of all those people, 99% of which have never or will never, own a speed 6 engined TVR, to talk complete bollocks.
You can discuss reliability to you hearts contents.
Or
When are TVR going to put a proper engine in thier cars.
Or
You can just say, I would touch one because thier a pile of crap, and its nothing to do with the fact that I earn
all money & can't afford one.
Saves you all the time of looking for other threads to write crap in.
Call it an early christmas present.

Ho wabout a thread on the Good things about the S6 engine
or what could make it better.

Possibly because it has had a set of particularly negative issues that the factory has completely failed to (publicly) dispell rumours over. Ignoring the fact that lots of people see it as an issue isn't going to make it go away; TVR could do themselves a whole load of favours by any number of marketing/PR stunts re. the engine. Running a Tusc/T350/Tamora/all three from here to China & back without any major problems, for instance. Lots of sexy pics of cars, lots of PR, and lots of positive ammunition. Instead, the only time the word "factory" and "S6" are generally used in the same sentence is when discussing the seemingly never-ending stream of engine blocks back there for "upgrades".
I really want to be positive about the engine. I really do think things are better than they were with it (and maybe even "sorted"). But I also really think that TVR get all they deserve for releasing an inherently flawed product and not being willing to stand up & face the consequences like a mature company.
And, given that this is the public opinion of TVR, based to some extent on historic fact, people who are interested in buying one are going to want the question answering individually before buying one. Just like people will keep asking about warranties. And about boot space. And servicing costs. And everything else. Relegating this to a single thread is just trying to deal with a symptom, and I don't think it'll help cure the problem one bit... that thread will degenerate almost immediately, and it'll probably all just turn into a censorship debate about not allowing other S6 threads...

Was not saying that at all. Was mearly refering to the vast amount of people who slag of the car, and say that they will never buy one, when the fact of the matter is that they 'probably' could not if they wanted to.
I have to say that the new era Tuscan that I saw at last months meet was substantially (or at least appeared to be) better built than a lot I've seen. Also, I quite liked the exhaust note too. I was disappointed that the steering column "dewlap" is still there, clobbering ones knees when getting in or out, or changing gear, though.
I'm not at present in the market for a car to replace Wol, indeed, short of him being stolen or written off (God forbid), I won't be. But, and it's a big but, if my finances progress as they are at the moment, in a couple of years time I most definitely would be able to afford a new Tuscan.
As the current market stands, though, my interest and money would be more likely to be heading in the direction of Malvern or Wiltshire, or even Hethel, than Blackpool. Or if I felt the real need, just down the road (for me) to Hinckley.
I'm not at present in the market for a car to replace Wol, indeed, short of him being stolen or written off (God forbid), I won't be. But, and it's a big but, if my finances progress as they are at the moment, in a couple of years time I most definitely would be able to afford a new Tuscan.
As the current market stands, though, my interest and money would be more likely to be heading in the direction of Malvern or Wiltshire, or even Hethel, than Blackpool. Or if I felt the real need, just down the road (for me) to Hinckley.

I can understand your general sentiments hobo, and frustration with all the general negative Speed 6 comments on this site, but I'm afraid a comment like that one isn't going to win anyone over.
On a positive note, I can say that after about 6 months of owning a Speed 6 engined car, I absolutely love it, think it is a bloody fantastic engine, with enough grunt low down, and a proper rev range to use, where the aural pleasure just increases as you crank it up!
And I love the fact that with the Tamora you can clearly see the "TVR" logo writ large on your home grown engine through the cooling vents in the bonnet
And without wanting to tempt fate, my car is at 12,000 miles now, and the S6 hasn't gone pop. Of course if it does
, I may join the S6 ranters

Hey, my motor's got a big V8 in it, sounds gorgeous and may well be very reliable, but, if I had the cash or the required income to take out a bank loan, I would certainly have one.
Why, because they are installed in some of the most glorious looking cars ever made and they also sound fantastic.
Servicing, rebuilds etc. would surely be all part of ones financial 'plan' when buying a S6 motor. After all, you are getting a very cheap supercar.
