Road angel gem mounted next to drivers side a pillar on top of dash. Easy to route a thin usb cable under dash and behind centr console to plug in socket in passenger foot well.
never look at the car speedo. RA is almost a head up display. Nicest feature is it tels you actual average speed between each set of average camera posts.

I run mine powered by a savvy in the diagnostic socket. Mutes all warnings below a setable speed. I use 35mph and it mutes all urban false alarms which is where most are.Photo of my old RA in the wife's gti. Use it as the speedo as its so much more visible than the dash. No visible wires. USB routed behind dash down to the back of cigarette lighter socket. Some simple soldering and wire routing took about an hour to fit.

I get loads of false laser detects these days with my V1, mounted in the same place as yours.picture taken with camera at my eyline, so as i see it.

|http://thumbsnap.com/dV1kTYyI[/url]I'm assuming it's from new Volvos and the like fitted with IR/laser measuring gizmos & 'active braking' or whatever it's called as before I might get the odd warning when driving near an airport but otherwise not many laser false positives.
Wondered if it was worth mounting the main unit closer to the dashboard as the central reservation might then block some of these sources.
I don't want to disable laser detection as despite what some people think it can give you useful warning by detecting light spill and reflections from vehicles in front being targetted.
The only false lasers I get are from traffic monitoring poles on motorway bridges and a roads.
Have to admit it's saved me a couple of times when plod has taken a second reading, allowing me to shave off enough for them to leave me alone.
I get more false radar from adaptive cruise people are using now, but I'm fairly sure you can turn off the band that they work on.
