Another what car..
Discussion
Hello all, and apologies, I know what car threads are not the most popular around these parts.. However I need some insight
I am taking a new job in the next couple of weeks which means a much longer commute (20-30 miles each way as opposed to 5) which means my current approach of using my Z4MC as a daily won't really work as the petrol cost will be enormous. Won't be the worst thing to retire it to a weekend fun toy anyway I guess!
As such I need a daily.. And am really struggling as to what to look at.
The only requirements really being as below:
Budget : £2500 max
Good MPG (40+ ideally)
Tax as low as poss, ideally <£200
Preferably a good 5 seat car due to the Z4 being quite small would be nice to have space for tip runs etc
Saloon preferred over hatch
Other than that anything is game. All I have really looked at thus far is Mazda6 2.0Tds (I actually quite like them) and the odd Mondeo, and have ran out of ideas now haha.
Any ideas PH? Any help much appreciated.

There seems to be a couple Clio's in my price bracket, what other cars share that engine in either group?
Is it a bit of a gutless engine though? I am obviously used to a bit of power, I realise I am not going to get quite the same with what I am after but enough oomph to overtake on a motorway or whatnot would be ideal

Here's a couple of options:
If you're not a badge snob then these are good value are fully loaded & are cheap to run.
