I think this has to be THE best looking 991. Never been a fan of convertibles but the Targa roof massively changes my opinion on 'open top' motoring. I don't think the Targa has previously been a good seller for Porsche in the UK (?) but i wonder if now it looks as good as this we could see more of them? Hope so. Anyone ordered one?

In my eyes one of the smartest buys at the moment.
The Targa lines are absolutely beautiful and the concept is a perfect combination of daily driver and weekend toy.
GTS spec adds more power and a good manual box and if the turbo rumours are true then this car will only be built with the classic N/A engine for one year?
I think these will be more rare than many limited edition cars, sure to be highly sought after in a few years.

That black on black, if its produced like that, is a hell of a looker.

Simply stunning, the roof is a work of technical art.
Looking forward to a manual version myself some time.

It's the best looking "normal" (not a GT 2 or 3)911 in a long time for me.

I must be the only person that thinks these look a bit 'awkward'.

I just feel that retro look roll over bar doesn't gel with the modern lines of the car. Almost looks a bit 'bolt on' to me.

Maybe different in the flesh.....

I love the Targa.

I am not entirely convinced with all the smoked leneses on the GTS.

I would love a Targa in Sapphire blue or Candy Apple Red...

It's a fantastic looking car, the pictures of the red one on Porsche.co.uk are very impressive, stunning even.

I could never justify or rationalise it cost wise though as a car that makes sense- the 2014 cars I see are over 100k, too close in price to a 991 Turbo S which would be only a few months older and virtually the same miles.

Going by what I was offered a car for recently (top spec, great colour, 1 owner car with very few miles on it) it's a much more attractive proposition if I want to move on my 997 S

991 Turbo S is after all simply on another level to the Targa- watch the videos of it vs. an aventador 1/2 mile runbiggrin

Yeah I felt the same till I saw one at OPC Reading.

Looks a LOT better in the metal.

I agree next to the GT3 best looking 991 out there, but the GTS is 4 wheel drive only, not enough BHP to deal with the all wheel drive imv, along with the added weight of the roof system.....

I guess you need to know what you want to get out of the Targa 4 GTS....for me it's not going to be quite my daily driver but almost...this car needed to be able to do the European runs (Roof down) it needed to be PDK (Auto) for London driving it needed to be comfortable it needed to cover the odd Trackday it needed to be an all rounder also I'm not bothered whether it was 4WD or 2WD and I'm not bothered if it's 70Kg heavier...and hopefully it won't bomb too much in depreciation although I'm not bothered as I don't intend selling and it also needed to be as far removed as I could from my GT3 RS so not to dilute the driving experience of either...PS....it'll look good with the 20" Black and Silver Fuch wheels biggrin

Agree. Think it would look brilliant with the wheels from the 50th anniversary edition.
