Forgive me for asking, but why do you need a new one? Is it just blowing hot or cold air only? I only ask as mine hasn't worked since I bought her last April and need to narrow down the culprits.

Generally they don't stop the flow of water when shut off allowing warm water to bleed through.

This manifests itself in the heater not quite turning off.

Thanks Peter. Is it a hard part to get to? At £6 I might just replace it if it is, whilst the car is in bits.

I've got an early model and found it to be a pain in the ass to fit, luckily I was removing carpets and replacing heater pipes at the same time so could just rip everything out. It was awkward getting the cable back in correctly while getting it in place from what I can remember.
Located far up in the right left hand corner next to the heater matrix

Mine was leaking into the footwell, second time this has happened still at least the part is cheap

Half hour job and as Brett said, awkward.

Very doable and yes the part is cheap and won't last forever.

Easy to see if yours has gone. Run car up to temperature with the heater on cold.
Feel the hose from the valve, it should be cold.
