Starting up as a taxi driver in Aberdeen and Shire?

I'm thinking of starting up as a taxi driver in Aberdeen and South Aberdeenshire, I'm not sure where to start?

I currently work in the oil sector but am fed up with teh beauracracy and uncertainty. I'm looking in to becoming an owner/driver of my own taxi.

Can anyone give me some guidance on how to get started? I have a car that should be suitable and am willing to work long and unsociable hours.

Any help will be gratefully received?

I think I would go down the private hire route, sorry I didn't make that clear?
