Am I correct in saying that once you change username, you cannot change it back to your original name later?

They changed the way it works. Old users with spaces in their names are OK unless they change it but new users can't have spaces at all.

And 2 character user names are not allowed any more. I am clinging to mine in the hope of selling it for £millions at some point in the future

If one changes one's username, do all one's previous posts show as being posted by one's new or old username? I would like to change mine but if it is so easy to find out my old username, it is not worth changing it.

Yes, your posts are linked & all that has to be done is look in posting history to find the old name.

Noticed a new user joined in November with a space and dot in username click.
I understood they weren't allowed now.

They changed the rules again sometime last year. That's how I got my 2 character username, I changed it in the spring/summer last year I think.
