A short while ago the California was sold and I’ve been looking for a 458/458 Spider for a little while. I became interested in 3 used ones, Red, Yellow and Black.

I went to see the Yellow one and loved it but it had the sports seats and I wanted the race seats but thought I could compromise.

I discounted Red as I’ve had a number of Red Ferraris so went to see the Black one last Thursday, it was sold the previous evening!
But the dealer said they could do a deal on a new one so after a lot of haggling and thought and wearing out some friends ears (and learning the used Yellow car also sold this morning) I have agreed to buy a new 458 Spider with collection from the factory in July hopefully all to coincide with a planned Alps and Tuscany trip.

So it’ll look a lot like the one below, triple layer metallic yellow, black race seats, yellow stitching and seat stripes, lots of carbon plus grey wheels. (Thanks to Atomic80 on Ferrarichat for borrowed pics)

Congrats. Great car and looks stunning in yellow and so refreshing after a number of red ones.
I would assume you negotiated a hefty discount and that many of the options were FOC.
I wouldn't repeat the deal I was offered on a factory order car back in September for March delivery but suffice to say it was a lot cheaper than a lot of the used advertised prices ( Dick Lovett had a used one up for £249,995 the other day ). Was offered a 1,000 mile demo List Price £244k for £190k in December and they say McLaren's are disounted

I think it was all their margin and some as they wanted in moved on and off the books at year end. Admittedly I was seriously tempted at that price but opted for a more expensive and brand new McLaren 650s spider in the end.
I think the fact that they were offering such a discount and the new model 488 GTB was about to be announced did actually put me off a bit. Its kind of refreshing to know I paid full whack for the Mac and its worth every penny lol

The race seats are carbo fibre backed and give better headroom while still being really comfortable. Lovely car, Mark. We must swap notes on routes to Italy - I am taking the 430 to Lake Como in late June. Can't wait!!

You paid 'full whack' for the 650S? No discount? I seem to remember you got a huge discount?

The picture from the centre console looking at the seats is amazing!

The car looks stunning in yellow and yes it's a refreshing change from red.

Russell your memory is obviously better than mine. I got a discount for a December cash purchase obviously and it was a fair price but no where near the discount on the Ferrari or what the scare mongers on here suggest.
I had to weigh the 2 deals up - a new McLaren 650S spider at a premium over a 3 month old 1,000 mile 458 spider demo at a substantial discount - was a tough call but ended up stumping up considerably more for the McLaren primarily for the carbon tub advantage and exclusivity at the end of the day.
Had lots of Ferrari's and love them all to bits but just wanted a change and something different to everyone else.
Must admit the 488GTB looks good so when the spider comes out I may return

Thanks for the pictures I have been looking at the combinations of exterior colour and interiors for a while now prior to buying one later this year and have to say that you have the best colour combination I have seen.
