Well after looking at various 3.0Sc's and 3.2 Carerra's, I found one I liked last Friday. Thanks to people posting info here I had Peter Morgan inspect it yesterday.
Very polite, helpful and informative chap, of the 3.2's he has looked at recently he considers mine to be a very good example for it's age, it does need a little TLC in a few places, but structurally and mechanically it is good, with the only serious bill in the near future may be a new exhaust as there is some rust on the existing one.
Seeing another post on classic insurance, well to move from a 99T 1.8is MX5 to a 85C 3.2 Carerra Sport will cost me £300 more, for a car which is hundreds of times more capable.
Thanks to all the people who replied with buying advice and to a guy at 911virgin, who told me masses of information about the older 911's, should he ever read this post
As I have just turned 30, I feel this is a very good method with dealing with the gloom of getting older
Regards,
