Thought it might be vaguely useful to share this...

My P/97 Chimaera's door isn't quite as described in the G&C Bible. Steve describes a door with a carpeted panel, whereas mine is entirely covered in vinyl ... I guess a later variation. The only difference between the method for removing the trim seems to be that the later door has an extra stud whose nut and washer need to be removed before the trim comes away. Possible this only applies to driver's side)

To remove trim ... Pull out ashtray and remove the revealed self tapping screw. Take out speaker to gain access to four studs (they're mounted in the trim then pass through the door and are each secured with a large washer and nut ... 10mm spanner required). One stud is towards the front of the door and easily accessed. The first stud towards the back of the car is easy enough, but the remaining two are located about as far back as the cigarette lighter and are offset diagonally. I had to insert my arm beyond the elbow to reach them.

I'd recommend replacing the original nuts with wing nuts when reassembling as they remove the need for spanners which can easily be dropped into the lower recesses of the door.
