VW Touran R ????

The eighth picture in the gallery attached to this article in Auto Express on the replacement for the VW Touran shows a white Touran with what looks like an 'R' badge on the grill.

What a brilliant idea!

No mention of a 296hp 2.0litre turbo in the text, but we can dream...

alas R line not R

VW milking the top model branding in the same way BMW sticks M on half their cars now, and Merc AMG

It will be an 'R-Line'

I've seen a few R-line polo's going about with an 'R' on the grille, 1.2L bottom spec engine.

Thank you for popping that particular bubble.
Didn't realise VW played this game too.

Ah well, back to my spreadsheet...

ooooh...

Volkswagen could also launch a new R Line trim – already seen on the Polo, Golf and Passat. This would add sportier details including new bumpers and subtle R badging, plus R Line seat covers.

zzzzz....
