It can be done for alot of money, I'm sure.

But the ITR seems to be a finely tuned car - Would supercharging one upset things a bit?

Hmmmmmm...

Abbey Motorsport have done at least two Civic Type Rs if I'm not mistaken.

And don't forget that Ariel have a supercharged CTR-engined Atom in their model line-up too.

Edit: Sorry - just realised from the thread title it's an ITR not a CTR. Oops.

Can't see why supercharging it would be a problem. After all, unlike a turbo, you don't get any lag. Just a constant increase in power throughout the rev range. Don't Jackson Racing do one for the ITR?

neither of mine had/have lag btw.
Well, I was talking relativly really. Also, turbo power tends to come on strong after a certain rpm which can be intersting mid corner, whereas a supercharger will tend to build the power/torque up gradually.

I'm not saying superchargers are better than turbos (lets not get into that one!), but I think they would better suit a nicely balanced car like a ITR.

I've met a bloke on a couple of trackdays who runs an ITR with a Jackson Racing supercharger. It was seriously quick (Not unsurprisingly)

ITRs are difficult to extract alot of power from.

I have recently had quite a few mods fitted, and it takes them in combination to get any real gains.

Chipping the car with a Dastek Unichip after getting the breathing right with a manifold/decat/exhaust has given the car plenty more low down torque, with a far smoother power curve.

Thought about Supercharging, but felt it was a little unknown/risky. But the chip/breathing route was well tried and tested through the ITR DC2 forum boys.

Its probably only unlocked 20hp or so, but the torque increase and vtec controller (now kicks in at 5000rpm) make the real difference.
