Dear @?@?@?@,

After leaving a message on you mobile I thought I’d drop you an email.

I understand you are disappointed with the GT4 allocation and not being in-line for a car this year. I fully understand your frustration, however we have no way of changing this situation.

I feel Dave may have given you the impression that by providing a letter of intent then you would definitely get a car; if this is the case please accept my sincere apology. We were under the wrong impression that we would receive more GT4 allocation than we have.

We have now decided to remove our letter of intent list on GT product altogether as it has created real disappointed for customers as highlighted by your own experience; instead we will allocate the cars to our customers who have historically purchased a number of cars from Porsche Centre Chester.

I understand this may also come as a disappointment, however feel this to be the fairest way to manage customer expectation. Dave has informed me that you are attending the Geneva Motor show on the 6th, maybe we can talk further at the show.

Regards

Carl Hazelton

I honestly think they have got this right. I don't know your situation but Porsche/OPC should be offering the cars to previous buyers. The GT cars are very limited and I would say that its the OPC's choice who they have built a relationship with and who those cars go to. That way at least there is some sort of chance the right people will be getting the cars. Obviously some will sneaked through but at least most cars wont get in the hands of speculators.

There goes the chance of a "normal" customer getting any GT car from OPC Chester!!

but that's what they did any way !

Rybrook group is not to be trusted it seems !

remember this is NOT Porsche or other OPC's I have been very happy with the Sytner group when buying cars, in fact the last 5 or 6 cars have all be Sytner group cars.

I have an Exige V6 with 430bhp conversion. A GT4 was what i needed to add to my collection, thanks for the tip though and great to see Lotus able to meet their customer demand.

I think they stopped sales on that in great number when they said a lightweight or CUP will follow

who wants a Evora 400 now that a light weight one is coming ? like wise who is going to buy the 100 Exige V6's for sale now they said a 400BHP v6 Exige is due any minute !

how to stop sales of current cars.

Unfortunately Lotus' short term desperation is harming them in the long term.

In my opinion OPC got a difficult decision right. Whatever they did someone would be unhappy and they couldn't have known in advance allocations would be so low.

Good points, my point was to highlight the difference. I bet Lotus salesmen weep when they read this part of the forum. smile

Agreed. Will also (not that it's needed for some GT models) retain their price when moving them on. Probably to the point where those 'chosen few' will have almost free GTx driving for 6 ~ 12 months.

Quite a nice rewards programme if you are on the right side of it.

Agreed, a tough call but probably the right one. The issue i have is that it was not transparent before this happened, and when i left my deposit after being told i had a car my focus switched from being hopeful to planning space in my garage. It made the let down so much more than it would have been had the LOI system been clear at the time, which is that it is totally pointless as the cars will go to our richest customers who buy the most cars regardelss of any LOI order/queue system. Its their system so its their choice, but just be straight about it from the start.
GT cars are now invite only!! Very much like Ferrari. Shame for us mere mortals who just want to bat a GT4 around a track each summer. Time to move on I guess, what to buy now instead?

Sounds like a BS fob off to me?

So they are going to bin off all their 991 GT3 RS LOI's, which presumably have been placed by their big spenders?
