I'm just dilly dallying, going round and round in circles and will slowly dissappear up my own chuff if I dont make my mind up.....

Came back to the UK after many years away. wanted a soft top again so bought a '78 converted rubber bumber MG...was OK. It was, what it was, BUT I wanted some more poke so bought a Chim. Nice, noisy and went like stink, BUT from the front it could be one of several cars....so sold that as well.

Am now hankering. Having bought a bike..again.....I had around 2k to spend and thought OK a decent 160 TF would do....then I thought, mmmm that red alfa romeo on eb*y looked nice for 1750...its differant, then I thought....a Jag XK8 and waft along in style,,,,but its quite big, so then I thought.....(I dont work so have lost of time on my hands) howzabout,(are we allowed to say that now??)....up it a few grand and go for a porker....a boxster....6-7 k should get me one of several I've seen on eb*y including a private sale in Redruth for a 3.2S 2001 77k miles for 6200....

Thoughts. (Not just on the porker btw)...ta

You like crap cars?

If you are thinking of buying a Boxster in that price range, please do some research on issues they *may* encounter, lots of threads on here to help steer your decision.

TF's OK if the HGF is sorted. I have read about XK's rotting out and I have also read that the nikasil prob should be sorted. I only have around 5-7k. Must be a rag top, dont like mx5,s Beemers, s2000 too much dollar.....

The TF is supposed to be good, but I personally don't like the looks. It just looks too tall at the back.

Alfa will be FWD, which is OK if you like that.

XK8 is a bit of a barge, as you say.

Boxster is nice, but potentially expensive if it goes wrong engine wise. Chances are it will be fine, it just depends if you're willing to take the risk.

Have you looked at kit cars for sale, just for something a bit different?

No I havent! Theres a very nice looking 2.7 porker for sale in London with a very distinctive colour, lowish mileage with full warranty/FSH.....and a nice clean looking TF for 1500.....
