Inspired by the "Pre-Flight checks routine thread" See- http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

For those of you that have AC/Climate control, what temperateure do you set it at when driving, my friend finds it weird that I set mine so high (26 as a rule) and I find it cold when in his car (he is a 21) but reading the thread above, I appear to be the wierd one, so ladies and gentleman, am I the odd one out?

For the purpose of this, lets assume its in the current climate, I.e end of winter, start of spring.

Mine stays at 21 all year round except when my wife has used the car when it appears to be set to MAX.

The family car generally stays set to 19. The Elise doesn't have climate control.

In summer it's usually at 20/21. In winter 21/22. Blower is usually on first setting, which in a Mercedes is considered "0.5"! If it's particularly cold/warm I push the fan up to "2.5".

If the roof is off in winter, temp goes to "max" and so does the fan! tongue out

Normally ~17.0

Very, very rarely gets set above 20.0, only really when defrosting or at the start of a journey in Freezing conditions, quickly finds itself back under 20 mind.

Hate driving in a Hot car cabin. I have to have a flow of cooler air.

18 in very cold weather (that's the lowest it will go that isn't set to cold), cold at all other times.

If the wind is not too bad, I'm happy being outside in shorts and tshirt in and around zero degrees C.

I've found it vary between cars.

I set the M5 to 20 the vast majority of the time but my 330 would feel too warm if I went above 18.

Am I the only one who's temp can go up in .5 degrees yet it has to be on a whole number? Or is that for another thread?

I dabble in that.

It just makes me feel at ease.

I'm the opposite, have to have it set at 20.5 or 21.5, not entirely sure why. This put me in a predicament for voting on the pole...

Twist right to the red section when I first get in at this time of year.
Then the white bit in the middle of the dial most of the time.
Twist left to the blue section in the summer.

It's a simple life.

20 all year round, fan on 2, AC on if it's warm in the summer, otherwise just use a mix of heat & fresh air.
Turn the fan up to 3 or 4 if the windows need demisted over & above what the heated screen does. Don't think I've ever pressed the max demist button in the current car.

Or leave on Auto, even simpler.

18 or lower all year round. Why would I want my car to be hotter than my house?
