Rear crank seal ffs

It looks like my ECU fund is about to get a slap

Oil dripping rear of engine/ front of gearbox and moveing out of the garage clutch is juddering

What's involved is it the job from hell

Also if I'm doing the seal and clutch what's the shopping list I nead to get ?
Is there a kit for the clutch ( road only)
Any mods to do while am in there ?

I had this a couple of years ago after a bad rebuild.

It can be done in situ. We did it at Simons garage, (Sardonicus) and I guess if we stopped talking and drinking tea we could have done it in half a day as he had all the right gear.

Box out
Flywheel and clutch off
Sump off
End mains cap off
Renew crucifix seals
Renew rear oil seal
Poss renew clutch.
Reassemble.

And any tips where and what to buy

Is it worth getting the fly lightened

Buy genuine ones from Turner Engineering.
We used a good quality sealant,(Simon, which one?)
Seal around Oil seal, crucifixes and housings.

As for the flyweel, lightening can only be a benefit.

No sealer around oil seal just on crucifix pieces and a smear on the block sides opposite those Dirko or Wurth RTV

Before you get too carried away ripping the gearbox out try a can of this stuff- it works remarkably well:

I'd make absolutely sure your rocker covers, sump & sump bolts are sealed before embarking on this. Oil runs everywhere and makes it particularly hard to identify the source of leaks. Anal cleaning & cunningly deployed paper towel 'sponges' are the only ways I know to be sure. If the rear seal is leaking I would expect the bellhousing inspection plug would fill with oil ~ maybe adding a drain pipe to the rubber might be a way to have an acid test as its impossible to get the cover off easily to inspect what it's collected?

Am off to clean with brake cleaner and a toothbrush
But I'm 90% sure the rockers are dry
As for the sump just done it so ???
