My Short Car History (17-22)

So boredom kicked in again at work and I figured it would be a good idea to do a brief car history.
I've been driving since 17 and I feel I can say that I have had a decent amount of cars in my 4 and a bit years of driving. Unfortunately I haven't got many pictures of them, just the odd one here and there so excuse the poor standard of the photos!
First Car: Honda Civic 1.4 Nighthawk Black.
This was my first car. My first ticket to freedom. I had about 1500 to my name to purchase and insure a car and being a bit of a car nut I was really fussy with what I bought. I saw the usual 206/106/Saxo/Corsa but nothing really tickled my fancy. I just couldn't gel with the cars and I always walked away from the deal. One day I was sitting on Autotrader and happened to come across a 40k (Verified) mileage Honda Civic in Nighthawk black (One of the rarer colours) with no rust and in immaculate condition (not for long). I immediately went down to see it and after a bit of haggling, it was mine for the princely sum of £900! It was no barge but for a first car it was a damn laugh, nothing ever went wrong with it and it handled snow/rain/heat/mud with ease. It was pretty damn quick too for a new driver and I loved it to bits.
I had this car for almost a year and it did almost 20k miles in that year. First year of uni it hauled me around england with mates with absolutely no problem at all.
Second Car: VW Polo 1.4 Match
I had just started a new job in the second year of Uni that paid pretty well for someone my age and I fancied a change from the Honda. I had roughed it up a bit as you can see in the photo and I wanted something a bit more modern, so in came this 2009 Polo. Not much to say about this car, it was cheap as chips to run and very reliable. It lasted me another year during Uni and I eventually just got bored of it and sold it off.
Third: BMW 325Ci E46 M Sport.
This car was a real achievement for me. Having just turned 21 and a bit of savings in the bank + having sold off the polo, I wanted something special. I've loved E46 Coupe's since I was young and I especially loved this colour. I was hunting for the specific spec I wanted with no luck. It had to have leather, M Sport, Xenons and the HK Sound system. Eventually after a few weeks I found one up in Yorkshire and immediately went off to see it. I'm probably going to get slated for this but the second I saw the car I fell in love with it. In fact I bought it without a test drive.. oops.
The car has been a dream and I have loved every moment of owning it. I had a bit of an incident with a lamppost after getting it because I ran out of talent at a junction - But once it was mended I kept it and kept on driving it. I honestly think this car will stay with me for a while.
Fourth: BMW 740i E38.
I don't have any pics of this - But after the accident with the E46 I needed a run around for about a month purely because the repairs took about 2 weeks to do (???) and after that my dad used the car for a bit. I was on eBay one day and noticed a lovely 740 in pretty decent shape. It had 180k miles on it and had about 2 months of MOT left, it also had lovely Alpina alloy wheels and drove really smoothly. I picked it up for £450 and drove it for about 4 weeks. 2 weeks later the gearbox failed completely and I sold it on for £440. Not bad!

Fifth: BMW E60 525D LCI M Sport.
Apologies for the length of this! But having just turned 22 and getting a very well paid job that required a 100 mile commute daily, I couldn't drive the E46 to and from work. It was draining my wallet like mad on fuel. A bit of TERRIBLE Man Maths and a few beers later, I decided I needed a diesel. I went to look at some E Classes, C Classes but never really gelled with them. I just happened to sit in an E60 LCI and I fell in love.. again. So a few days of searching later, I picked up a lovely E60 525D M sport, Carbon Black and Spider Alloys. It had the leather, Sat Nav etc and I was happy. I had a few issues with this that some of you may have read about but thankfully all is well now.
I'm still running the E46 too but I use that for short commutes and weekends, the E60 takes care of the motorway hurdles with ease.
