What's wrong with your discs, are they corroded or simply worn too thin?

Sounds in the parish to me, but i'm no expert.

But what i WILL say, get a quote from one of the bigger independants.
They know Porsches aswell if not better than your OPC, and will be a lot cheaper !!!

Brakes should not invalidate your warranty either as, your OPC won't be able to tell.

How about asking Colin (ninemeister)?

You're in South Yorkshire, he's in Warrington (Cheshire). Not far is it?

I have just paid £1,000 inc vat for new disks and pads on the front, pads on the rear from the OPC in Silverstone. That was before the Porsche Club discount. I also had the brake fluid changed, that cost £107.

Do it yourself, you'll save a fortune and it's a pretty straightforward job. Look at Robins site www.p-car.com for tips on diy. I doubt whether the discs cost more than £150 each and the pads can be bought from eurocarparts for about £100(TEXTAR = OEM).

Warranty will not be an issue trust me.

If you need any advice please email and I can help.

Regards

In June 2004, replacement discs and pads all round, came to £1,330. Including a 10% discount for being a member of PCGB. Having changed the front discs previously this was the first time I changed the rear discs. Be absolutely sure the rear discs need replacing (ie they are too thin or cracked up like the fronts probably are).
