Selkirk MTB Marathon

Anyone done this? I'm planning to sign up for it this year. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of it. I'm intending to do the full 75km..a decision which may haunt me!

Done it a couple of times and the best marathon event of the year according to Nick Craig. Technical in places but nothing completely stupid.
See if you can stay at the Glede Knowe guest house at Innerleithin. MTB friendly. Has tool kit, hose, and decent breakfast not too far from Selkirk and just over the bridge from the trailhead of the Innerleithin red route. very short road rice to Glentress too.

It starts 800mtrs from my house,took my mate round the 25k route last week ,well the old course anyway,Pete Laing is designing the course spoke to his fil and he said he was building some new sections as we speak...will need to try find out what new sections are like forgot to ask him last time I bumped into him.
Was very muddy last week then I did inners on Wednesday and had 3-4inches of snow at the top in places good fun tho

I'm right up for this. Am a regular at inners and glentress so hopefully it'll be within my ability.
Seems like it's a good trail and would be a good test of my fitness. Going on a trekking/cycling/kayaking/white water rafting holiday a week after it though so better not injure myself or my girlfriend will murder me!

Its a great course you will like it,a lot of natural stuff,work on your climbs as a hell of a lot(used to be fire road not sure about this years ) compared to the downhill sections there is one climb ive never made to the top yet im determined to beat it..need to work on the fitness levels myself.

The car park is next to the A707, about 2 ½ miles north of Selkirk, at grid reference NT 458 324.
TD1 3PW is the nearest postcode.
i would park there and you can climb straight from there on the path that goes to fire road,or you can pedal up the road 1/2 mile and get the start of the fire roa,if you take path turn right at top and spin away for a good few miles until you see the post sign for 3 brethern(southern upland way) on your left at the botton of a fire road decent spin away up that and at top you will see a gate that takes you down to selkirk again
you take the right climb again to top of bretheren you cant miss it with the cairn at top and cracking views
at top left track takes you to inners to the right you will see a proper single track decent follow that until you hit fire road then turn right....
keep climbing for a fair few miles until you see a 12ft high silver tree stump just before that is the next decent...
once at bottom of that one turn right then straight for 800mtrs then left and climbing again until you get to top of hill where you will see the fire road drop down and a fork in fire road ahead you take the left side and keep climbing for a few miles and there is a turn on right through trees(single track climb) (bit hard to spot as there is a turn before it that ends with a gate (thats the wrong one its the next one).
that leads to fire road climb again keep going you will see meet another fire road to left keep straight on and then single track climb to left about 400mtrs past that.
follow climb to top then its down all the way home where it will bring you to a gate go through and through next one and over small bridge over stream keep straight and you end up on tarmac road which brings you right back to yair bridge car park.
will see if i can find route on any maps for you
if i manage to get new build done and get it tested will try route and map it on strava.
