Le Mans! Who said they were comming????
Discussion
You may remember back before the xmas blurr, that I was hoping to put a little trip down to Le Sarth together?
Having talked to a few of you via email and off line, here is the plan!
Wednesday
Leave Blighty in the morning from Portsmouth.
Slow meander down through the French country side!
Set up camp
Night time practice.
Thursday
Plenty of HOONING! Drive what sections of the circuit we can, visit some of the famous attractions, Mulsanne, Arnage and generally have a decent time of it!
Night time practice.
Friday
More HOONING! Pit-walk-about, Drivers parade, maybe a few beers?
Saturday/Sunday
Did someone mention a race?
Dinner Sunday evening? (The camp site normally arranges something!)
Monday!
Bid a fond Bon Voyage! and tootle back up to collect our ferry back to good old England.
(A general entry ticket can be purchased from one of the ticket offices at the circuit at any time. This gives access to the night time practices, pit-walk-about and the whole race from any spectator viewing area. Costs about £40-45 Parking tickets can also be bought for about 20 – 25 euros and gives parking for the whole event.)
The camp site web site can be found here …….. www.chateau-de-chanteloup.com/
It is a family run site who are well used to looking after 24hr regulars. Good showers, decent restaurant and a warm welcome!
The cost is very reasonable and we normally settle up with the site owners upon arrival.
I am planning on taking a support vehicle along for this trip. I have a decent large van and at least one, maybe two mugs/volunteers to drive it down and back. This will be available to help carry camping gear, luggage, spares, tools, beer and any other junk you can think of! Ultimas/TVRs/Caterfields are all shite at this type of work, but bloody good fun to hoon around in! Hence the need for a support vehicle. If anyone wants to drop stuff off a day or two earlier that will be fine.
The hardest thing to cost up at the moment is the ferry. The plan is to go P'mouth to Caen/C’burg! Until I have numbers and car types I can not get costs.
Can you let me know ….. What cars? How many people?
I need to know this soon. Shall we say a week from now?
Any questions?
