Really dumb question about 52mm carbon clinchers

Right I have just bought a set of these along with some valve extenders.

DHL called today to say they have cleared customs and should be delivered tomorrow, all good so far

Did I also need to buy new inner tubes with extended valves ? Or will the valve extenders do the job

You just need to unscrew the valve from the core on your tubes and screw on the extensions. If they don't have removable cores, you just open the valve head and screw on the extensions. For what its worth I just use the 80mm continental tubes which are a bit less faff.

Not all tubes have removable valve cores; for those that do have them, you need to use valve extenders with a male thread that screws into the valve tube on the inner tube, and a female thread at the other end that accepts a valve core.

For those that don't, I think that you can get valve extenders that screw over the outside of the valve tube, but I'm not sure as I run tubs, which have removable cores.

Whatever you do for the cost buy some PTFE Tape as it really helps seal the valves.
