My 986 Boxster has been in storage over winter and it's getting to the time of year that I want to start using it again. I forgot to hook up my battery conditioner and the battery ran flat (battery's since been replaced). Now my key fobs no longer lock and unlock the car, I've tried unlocking the car with the key like you do when you've left the car for longer than four or five days but this hasn't fixed them.

Have I screwed things up or can this be fixed? I've heard that the keys can't be re-programmed and need replacing if they go wrong irked

This is just something I found on Google, but may be worth a try.

Hold down the lock/unlock button whilst turning the key in the lock.

Good luck.

Thanks - got one of them working again for a few mins using the above technique, but then it 'forgot' it again. How annoying frown

Have you replaced the key battery?
