Stainless exhaust manifolds...

Hi,

I've been gradually adding bits to my 500 each year. So far I have ACT carbon trumpets, the induction kit, larger plenum, tornado chip and one of Clive's catless Y pieces. Would the next logical step be stainless exhaust manifolds without the pre-cats? Will swapping manifolds make any noticeable difference?

At the moment the car is still on its original cam shaft and I don't want to go to the expense of replacing that until its worn (its fine at the moment).

You could remove your manifolds knock out the pre cats yourself get them ceramic coated and refit .Worthwhile mod and cheaper than new .

Or you could contact clivef again, he`s making stainless manifolds.

I've thought about removing the pre-cats and was thinking that like the Y piece it would be better to keep the expensive cats in, incase I'm forced or want to go back to standard in the future.

Coating sounds like a good idea though, is it good for heat control as well as corrosion resistance?

Also is there much performance benefit to removing the precats?

My car feels faster without pre cats.
The best thing is there's a lot less heat hanging around the engine bay,
Def better sound.
