Alas, change in my circumstances and mounting debt mean I have to sell my pride and joy.

Feel really down.

Sorry to hear that mate. I know how you feel, I had to sell my bike last year to pay off a £2k credit card bill.

What car is it BTW?

CLK230 Kompressor, which I've lovingly improved with an ECU upgrade, £1500 alpine DVD/CD/MP3 head unit and woofer, and privacy glass. Not even had her a year!

My sympathies to you. Endured what sounds like a very similar event not too long ago. Good times can return.

Things will turn around - and in a year or two you'll have another nice car and this period will be a fading memory.

Chin up, these trials make us who we are.

Thanks guys. All words of truth, but until it's gone and I've replaced it (with something better), I'll be a broken man.

Having spent money on an ECU upgrade, £1500 (WHAT!!) on a glorified tape player, and privacy glass, no flippin' wonder you're in debt! Kids uh, no idea..... mumble mumble

Look mate, you are not going to feel better in a blink of an eye, but think of all those poor souls out in the Far East - certainly a big change in their circumstances. On our crew room noticeboard there is a picture of a 2 year old child in hospital, obviously European, and no one knows who he is or where he comes from. It really makes you stop and think.

You have my sympathies, and I really hope things improve - I guess it's not just the loss of the car, you will feel better, and you can get another car - There is always someone worse off than you.

You're right in putting things ibnto perspective, but to cheer your good self and, er, anyone else up a bit, the boy has been reunited with his father. Apparently.

Is it the kid with all the insects bites?

If so he was found by his Dad a couple of weeks ago.

The email is still doing the rounds though.

(But yeah it still makes all think how lucky we are and sometimes what trivial things make us angry or sad)

Thanks RB.

I'm feeling much better about it now I've made my mind up and had some time to think about it. Now all I have to do is get rid of it, move back up to london and hope my career change can get me in something better quickly!

I'm just glad I didn't end up getting a tuscan a few months ago - it'd be even harsher to be separated from that!

And just think; had you bought the Tuscan, you could have faced more unexpected bills.
