Browsing through the Caterham F1 online auction catalogue, I came across these tasty little items:

http://whitelabel.globalauctionplatform.com/en-gb/...

"A McLAREN 030-072-013-002 Tag 310B Rev 02 On Car ECU, Serial No. 1197463 (Used)"

(opening bid 2,000 GBP)
Bid history: 0
Watching: 2

I thought that the ECUs were supplied by FOCA or whoever, and remained their property?

I realise that there is a week to go, but its surprising to see so much stuff without bids. I just wish I were a bit closer and could justify the time/money to go and bid on some gear, although their payment conditions seem rather anal to say the least.

thats the main ECU for the engine / car

very high spec unit but tellingly you will need a mclaren software license to run it , which are about £15K -

a year.......

Yup all have the same ECUs in all cars all supplied by McLaren.
As above its pretty much useless unless you have a fully running F1 V8 engine and engineers to run it etc etc.

I don't think the workforce are being sold at auction.
