Nikon 28-80 lens

I managed to get hold of a 28-80 f3.3/f5.6 G lens from warehouse express for £30 thanks to a link someone posted just before christmas.
I figured at £150 off, I couldn't really go wrong - I've bought it for when I'm on taking photos of my sisters dog who always wants to eat the camera... And for situations when I want to protect my precious DX lens!
Anyway the point of my post is that compared to the 18-70 DX lens, the quality is erm.... well... not so hot. It weighs about half as much!
I'm so pleased I went for the 18-70 lens packaged instead of the 28-80 package!
Still it's a useful backup lens for emergencies!
