Specialized Hardrock Drivetrain Overhaul
Discussion
For the last couple months the drivetrain on my Specialized Hardrock Sport has intermittently been rumbling/clunking its bits off, and while on a ride the other day it finally gave up the ghost. The rear hub was constantly getting loads of play, and the cassette kept on losing drive, before a combination of that and the system jamming up with mud snapped the hanger.
So I need a whole new drivetrain groupset and new gear shifter which I slightly damaged in a previous crash, but as always it seems it needs to be done on a budget as my car is about to cost me loads of money.
Any recommendations and rough ideas on price, as I will be getting my local bike shop to do all the work.
Cheers.

It will be more cost effective to get a new wheel rather than just a new rear hub for a bike of that value for budget £50 for that as they may be reluctant to build a new hub onto the existing rim and spokes. A new cassette will be about £25, new chain £10, new shifter could be anything from £20-40, new mech hanger will be £5, add in labour and you wont get much change from £200...
