Why are they assuming 31% power loss between engine and wheels?
I thought a typical loss was about 15% which would give less than 400 engine bhp for 339 bhp at the wheels.

Could it be because their customers prefer it that way?
500bhp is much more fun in the pub, than only 400bhp. -

What gear ratios were used for the pull? Unless the combination of box and FD was equal to 1:1 the flywheel number is useless.
Slinky, that's not correct. The power measured by the rolling road is the engine power minus the losses between the two ie transmission losses, rolling resistance etc. No car would have a flywheel speed to wheel speed of 1:1. The car would be doing over 500mph at 7000rpm if it did!mjk1 said:

I'd have said somewhere in the middle.Power Station are known in the Subaru world to be "optimistic"
V2 of the BR 5.0GT4 should be on a dyno soon!

Agreed, not even a 4wd has those losses.I am sure it goes like s
t off the proverbial shovel, but I think I would go elsewhere for a comparison
I would also have had the dyno done before the mods to get a comparison at the same dyno.I will try and dig my old V12V dyno out of before and after and see what the losses were for that dyno through the gearbox for comparison for you.
The only thing that really matters is, does it feel a lot quicker and does it make the grin bigger. If yes, then who cares.

As William says "awesome performance"
I have never been a fan of Dyno runs but I suppose it is the only way of measuring an engines performance.
Sorry for the delay in answering but as soon as it gets technical I prefer to ask the right people in this case the BR boys so here goes.
Br say they usually see about 420 at the wheels and with an average trans loss of 65BHP this gives 485BHP at the flywheel.
The 485 figure is what they sell their GT4 package at and Jessica, Teaspoon and Diablo Blanco have all dyno'd in this region.
This is the first time BR have used Powerstation and the Maha software cant give a wheel figure.
The trans loss is a part of the rotating mass loss quoted in the bottom right hand corner which includes the weight stated for the rollers.
BR said they would sooner test at a dyno that displayed actual power at the wheels but to sanity check BR measure airflow through air meters to calculate power and these results stack up next to Jessica.
My car " Money Penny" was originally 4.3L 380bhp but then had exhaust upgrade taking it to 425bhp it then went to 4.7L giving this result.
Now with all the technical side out of the way I can only say that the car I have today is an absolute weapon it is so responsive, with linear power all the way to 7,500 rpm and pin sharp handling thanks to the 2 stage electronic dampers and Brake upgrade I also have courtesy of BR.
I have also managed to sort out the final part of my Ultimate Vantage conversion with a set of Custom made light weight seats from Cobra who I have been badgering for over 18 months when I found that their Misano seat was to wide for my Vantage I nearly sold it there and then as the standard sports seats are so uncomfortable.

Sorry about the double post but I forgot to add the seat picture.
As you can see I think the wait for the new seat was worth it they are wider than the Aston ones and the shoulder support is more comfortable making for a more relaxed driving experience.
What I really like apart from that I can fit is that they are made by a great British company with a full Motorsport pedigree, Cobra only use OEM or better quality materials and can make in any design customers imagination can think of for a reasonable price.
For those who are into weight saving in GRP they are 20kg lighter and in Carbon 27kg when compared to the standard Aston Sports seats!
I believe these are soon going to be available from Bamford Rose who have helped make sure that they didn't give my cars electronics a reason to light up like a Christmas tree!!

Thank you BigScotty for your kind words, it has taken a lot to get the interior how I wanted it.
Having had lots of cars with full black I wanted a change, I love the Iron Ore red however it was on every panel when I bought the Vantage and even had a cream head lining so the black Quilted Alcantara really breaks it up giving a much softer feel.
Now how do I justify a full set of Glass buttons ????
