Hello, I own a 1981 Lotus Turbo Esprit and wanted to shoot a comparison film between the Lotus and it's old sparring partner the 308.

If anyone out there is interested in getting their car involved, please get in touch. You will get a nice video of your car out of it for free. I can edit together some footage of the 308 on its own if you prefer!

Naturally a 1981 308 (in red) would be the first choice but any 308 model would do.

Many thanks!

I would be up for this depending on where and when and what the film was going to be used for.

My 308 is 1985 and I also have a 1985 Jalpa if you wanted to add another sparring partner.

Thanks very much. Where abouts in the country are you?

The video will only go on my YouTube channel and your identity and your car's numberplates can be completely edited out at your discretion.

I love the story of these two cars, much like 458 vs McLaren MP412-C today. Both successful F1 teams at the time. Both made when the company founders were still alive. Both designed by Italian masters in the golden age of supercar design. Ferrari chose the V8, Lotus developed an innovative turbo for the Esprit. Incredibly the price for the early Turbo Esprits was higher than the 308! It is Chapman's ambition incarnate. I also have a theory that it was the first really great handling supercar, a title that I suspect actually belongs to the 308... Or maybe even the 308 GT4?

I have a silver 1982 Ferrari 308 GTBi in silver if that's close enough year wise?

A 1982 308 would be fairer on the Lotus, Robin's car's a QV by the look of it, which is most unsporting! wink

Very early days yet, my car is still on SORN, just putting the feelers out.

I'll contact you by pm. Many thanks.
